What's "INIVAS?"

I believe that as human beings, we have the ability to leave a profound and lasting impact on the lives of those we touch. I also believe that every adult, regardless of their background or upbringing, can point to a single individual who made an impact on their life. For some people, that person is a grade school teacher. For others, it’s a high school hockey coach. For me, it was my grandfather - Almando Savini. 

I grew up with my grandfather, affectionately known as “Papa,” as my father figure. A man of fortitude and perseverance, my grandfather made the decision to exit school in the sixth grade to support his family. An entrepreneurial visionary, Almando Savini created several businesses throughout his life, and became a man of great success. As a young boy and man, my grandfather instilled in me the value of hard work and the importance of thinking “outside the box.” After coming up with obscure solutions to problems he faced, my Papa would turn to me and declare, “Rickie, old boy - you won’t learn that in school.” It was his persistence and creativity that taught me to never settle on the first solution to a problem without first exploring others. 

My grandfather left an indelible mark on my life, both personally and professionally. The lessons he taught me growing up, guide me in my career as a financial advisor to this very day. The impact Almando Savini made on my life was so great, I named my firm in his honor. Inivas, or Savini in reverse, is my way of thanking my grandfather and celebrating his incredible legacy
